What that means in practice
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, I receive a small percentage of the sale from Amazon. You pay exactly the same price as you would otherwise — the commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not out of your pocket, and no fee is added to your order.
Links that pay a commission are marked. Each article carries a disclosure at the top, before any product is mentioned, and every purchase button is labelled as an affiliate link. You will never have to guess whether a link is paid.
What it does not change
No brand pays to be included here. Products are chosen because they are in everyday use in Japan, and the commission rate has no part in deciding what appears or what order things are listed in. Where a cheaper option is the better answer, the article says so.
Drawbacks are stated. If a product needs hand washing, cracks when mishandled, or will not work on an induction hob, that is in the article. Leaving those out would sell more and would make the site useless.
Prices and availability
Prices shown are approximate and were correct when the article was written or last updated. Amazon prices change frequently, and many Japanese products on Amazon.com are sold by third-party importers whose stock is intermittent. Always check the current price and seller on Amazon before buying.
